How to pack skis or a snowboard for shipping

How do I pack my skis or snowboard?

Use a padded ski or snowboard bag. Any padded bag you own works. No bag? Ship4Snow sells a $20 Ski Box and Snowboard Box.

Packing checklist

  1. Put the skis or snowboard in a padded bag. Keep poles or a second board in the same bag when they fit.
  2. Tape loose parts, such as ski brakes and binding straps, so nothing rattles or snags.
  3. Pad the bindings with clothing or foam.
  4. Close the bag and check that nothing pokes through the fabric.
  5. Tape the shipping label flat to the outside of the bag.

Size and weight

Your first price uses a standard packed size for Skis, Snowboard, or Ski & Boot Bag. If your bag is longer or heavier than that, choose Enter my size on the quote page and enter the packed weight in pounds, so the label matches the bag you hand to the carrier.

Packing and claims

Claims can be denied if the skis or snowboard were not packed this way. A photo of the packed bag, taken before you seal it, helps if you ever need to file a claim.
